The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Charlestown

This project was a second phase addition to a building that we originally designed in 1997. This phase added 4,604 square feet, making the LDS church a total of 8,461 square feet. The spaces added consisted of offices, a chapel/multi-purpose room and rooms to be used as classrooms. Additional parking was added that now requires the creation of a retention basin.

The soil on site also offered a difficult solution for the foundation system. Micro piles had to be driven into the ground to provide support for grade beams used as the foundation of the building.
