—PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS—
• With REB since 2019
• Bachelor’s in Architectural Science from Western Kentucky University
“I’ve got ambitions to go back to school and get a Master’s in Architecture, but right now being a dad is more important to me.”

—QUICK Q’S—
• Urban, Rural, or Suburban?
Urban architecture
•Go-to coffee order or snack during workdays:
French vanilla cappuccino with double espresso.
Peanut M&Ms.

•Currently reading/watching/listening to:
For long trips to site visits, I like audiobooks.
I just started Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn. I’ve not watched much TV these days.

•Favorite place in the city?
Any park with a good playground or walking trail. My go-to ones are Veterans Park or Shillito Park.

• Workspace must-have?
Headphones for sure.

—PERSONALITY & FUN—
•What do you enjoy most about architecture/design?
“Since being at REB, I really like being on the job site, seeing the construction first hand. As for architecture, I appreciate architecture that provides function over form. But I understand that the real trick to creative architecture is having a form that can provide a function.”
•Fun fact:
“I am an Eagle Scout. Hobbies: I enjoy playing video games and gardening/yard work. Home renovation projects from time to time.”
•Favorite design style or architectural inspiration:
“Zaha Hadid: She just seemed to be an outlier to me, and I liked and appreciated it. She was able to literally bend architecture to her will and make it exactly how she envisioned it.
Jørn Oberg: I watched a short video about the Sydney Opera house and did not realize how many functions the design of the building provided.”
•If you weren’t in architecture, what career would you have chosen?
“Computer programming or video game development/design. “

One word colleagues would use to describe him: Trustworthy, Helpful, Accountable, Easygoing, Willing

Last Lunch & Learn of 2025

We had Sharon Dundas from Altro, a UK-based flooring and wall systems manufacturer. The topic was about “Designing for an Aging Population” and how safety-focused materials, like slip-resistant flooring and wall systems used together, can support accessibility and aging-in-place design.

Key takeaways included slip and fall prevention, the importance of flooring transitions, and the importance of using high-contrast materials to better support sensory-impaired users.

We really enjoyed learning from her insights!

Volumod Visit (modular factory)

In the past 25 years, REB Architects has worked on more than 150 Low-Income Housing Tax Credit projects, including rehabilitations, adaptive reuse, and new construction developments. Over the last 17 years, nearly half of these projects were completed as part of the development team for Wabuck Development, showing a strong and ongoing partnership built on shared goals and a commitment to quality affordable housing. This experience has given REB Architects a solid understanding of the regulations, budgets, and design strategies needed to deliver successful projects that serve the community.

This month, Jeffrey, Emily, and Dallas visited Volumod, the modular factory where some of the units for our Bond Portfolio projects are being built. The portfolio includes 6 projects across Kentucky, featuring both stick-built and modular construction methods.

REB Architects collaborated with Wabuck Development, EV Studios, and Volumod to ensure a cohesive design approach that blends both construction types seamlessly. Using our knowledge of Kentucky Housing Corporation’s Minimum Design Requirements and the construction preferences of Clayton Watkins Construction, we worked to align layouts, finishes, and unit sizes so that residents enjoy a consistent and unified community experience no matter which type of unit they live in.
